The Building and the Facilities

Chelston Park is a picturesque 1920s building set in beautiful gardens. While the property has been modernised for the purpose of care, it continues to be warm home for over thirty residents.

At Chelston, our you are never short of places to sit. As well as the privacy of our residents’ own rooms, the house boasts two sitting rooms and a dining room with a kitchenette. There is a quiet room downstairs too.

There are several smart TVs in each lounge area and residents can choose between terrestrial, freeview or Netflix. Some residents like to set the screens to play slow TV.

    The Bedrooms

Chelston Park has thirty two rooms: twenty two singles and ten doubles suitable for couples. Rooms have pleasant views of the garden, fields or the Blackdown Hills.

Each room is equipped with electric profiling beds and a nurse call system with call points in both the bedroom and the bathroom.

Rooms have a TV point and some are equipped with a flat-screen TV, a fridge and tea service. Residents can choose between freeview or streaming services if they have a smart TV. The activities team and carers help residents to select their favourite music, TV channel or ambient ‘slow TV’ on YouTube.

Every resident has a personalised telephone number and can choose to have incoming calls only. Residents can personalise their rooms with pictures, furnature and ornaments.

Bedrooms have large picture windows with views of the garden and the countryside around.

Smart TVs in communal areas play slow TV or stream on-demand films and we have tablets for communication and other activities.

We have a strong WiFi signal throughout the building.
